About

Songs of Silence

Ten artists from Africa, Asia and South America and one writer from the Netherlands created a comic book called Songs of Silence. It’s a multicultural project that has received a subsidy from the fair-trade ASN Bank and won a cultural prize of from the city of Breda.

The title Songs of Silence refers to the fact that all the stories in the book have been inspired by famous song titles and are without dialogue. Moreover, they are about injustice, abuse, intolerance, deception and exploitation all over the world, all of which are too often ignored. As a result some of the stories are violent, and some are ironic, but all of them are touching.

The book Songs of Silence will be released in fall 2017 and spring 2018 in the US. It has 88 pages and a hard cover (170 x 230 mm).
